Richmond RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man allegedly involved in an attempted robbery.

Police responded to a business in the 5900 block of No. 3 Road around 2:27 p.m. on June 1 for an attempted robbery. The victim said she was seated inside of the business when an unknown man allegedly attempted to pull her purse off her arm. The victim attempted to hold on to her purse and was subsequently dragged across a table and struck a chair. The suspect then exited the business on foot, heading westbound.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man who is 178 centimetres tall (five-foot-ten) with a slim build and

black hair. He was wearing a black mask, a black zip-up hoodie with a graphic design on the back, black shoes, a black baseball hat, and black shorts with a red stripe.

The victim suffered a serious injury as a result of this incident. While a number of witnesses remained on scene, unfortunately, despite all efforts by our investigator to date, the suspect remains unidentified, says Supt. Julie Drotar, senior operations officer for Richmond RCMP. We are asking the public to take a close look at this photo. If you recognize this man or have information about this incident, call us.
