Tonight’s special city council meeting will see councillors discuss the installation of porta potties and a hand washing station in Richmond’s city centre.
Many community washrooms and hand washing stations are closed overnight. This means that members of the population without access to these facilities may be more vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Closures of libraries, community centres, and other public places reduces the number of public washrooms available.
The city’s COVID-19 Community Task Force discussed the possibility of adding more facilities at their online meeting earlier today.
