Avast, ye mateys! It’s time to work on your
pirate lingo and be prepared for the invasion of Steveston’s Gulf of Georgia
Cannery Museum on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Sept. 15 and 16.
Mimi Horita, marketing and visitor services
manager for the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society assures that the pirates are
the fun-loving, friendly kind.
With a pirate encampment by theShady Isle Piratesinside the museum, there promises to be lots of swashbuckling fun for
families of all ages.
So, whether you wear you own pirate gear, go
incognito or borrow the pirates’ garb the games and fun are free to all under
18 who come with an adult.
As the official observance of Talk Like a
Pirate Day, the cannery museum offers fun for pirates both big and very
small.
Whether you can make it to the pirate
invasion or not, this Parks Canada site makes for a fun outing. The costs for
this family fun are down again this year.
“Kids are free at Parks Canada sites starting
this year, so it should be a fun time for families,” says Horita.
