Playgrounds in Richmond will reopen Monday as part of the city’s restoration plan.
Almost 60 city-owned playgrounds will be open with some restrictions: users will be expected to wash their hands before and after use, avoid gathering in large groups in or around playgrounds and stay home if sick.
Playgrounds reopening next week include Terra Nova Adventure Playground, Garden City Play Environment, Flight Path Park playground and all school district playgrounds.
Access to playgrounds was originally identified as part of Richmond’s second step of restoration. In coordination with schools, they are being reopened now to encourage outdoor play for children as some return to schools Monday. No timeline has been set for other elements in Step Two as of yet.
Information on the timing of steps to reopen various services and amenities, as well as updates on further access, will be posted on the city’s website at www.richmond.ca/COVID19 as well as through its social media channels.
