B.C. reports COVID-19 data from July 3 to 9

In the past week (July 3 to 9) there were 973 new COVID-19 cases reported in B.C., bringing the overall total to 376,329 since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 223 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region (including Richmond), 384 in the Fraser Health region, 190 in the Island Health region, 111 in the Interior Health region, and 65 in the Northern Health region.
As of today, there are 426 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in B.C., 34 of whom are in critical care.
There were 211 new hospital admissions in the past week (July 3 to 9). Of those, 51 were in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 96 in the Fraser Health region, 32 in the Island Health region, 21 in the Interior Health region, and 11 in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 admissions in the previous week (June 26 to July 2) increased to 220 from the 172 originally reported last week.
The 30-day all-cause mortality report, which includes COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 related deaths occurring within 30 days from a positive lab result, indicates there were 22 deaths between July 3 and 9.
Of those who died, three lived in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 11 in the Fraser Health region, four in the Island Health region, two in the Interior Health region, and two in the Northern Health region. According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) report, these numbers are expected to increase as data become more complete.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in the previous week (June 26 to July 2) increased to 34 from the 24 originally reported last week. Deaths the previous week (June 19 to July 25) increased by one to 34.
Locally, the latest data from the BCCDC indicates that there were 36 cases in Richmond last week (July 3 to 9), up from 28 the previous week (June 26 to July 2).
